Revive 2015 was a great success even though it was a year of significant change. For the first time Revive was held at the Dural Sport and Leisure Centre, the home of Dural Baptist Church. Also this year was the first time we have gathered for Revive in May and the first time we have had multiple guest speakers during our main stage sessions. It was also the first time that Revive extended into regional areas with the Friday night main stage speaker being live streamed to gatherings in Wagga Wagga, Bathurst and Coffs Harbour. The program for Revive this year was also significantly updated.
Some things about Revive do not change however. Revive 2015 was an encouraging time of gathering together as a movement of churches. It was a time of worshipping our Lord alongside one another, and being inspired, encouraged and challenged by God’s word.
We were blessed this year to have Leon Stead, Allan Demond and Mike Frost speak during our main stage sessions along with Travis Ryan at our youth night. Leon challenged us to take the mission to “fish for people” seriously and to embrace the cost of following Jesus because it is worth it. Allan equipped us to follow Jesus on mission and in community. Mike encouraged us that as followers of Jesus our discipleship must involve eating and drinking with those who do not know Jesus.
Alongside our main stage sessions the workshops at Revive this year were better than ever. They presented multiple opportunities to be equipped, encouraged, empowered and revived as disciples of Jesus.
With so much change and a shorter time frame between Revive 2014 and Revive 2015 the success of this years conference was due to an incredible amount of work from a dedicated planning team, volunteer crews, worship teams, and above all else our event manager Kylie Hood who consistently goes above and beyond to make Revive happen. The success of Revive is also thanks to those who have continued to be a part of the Revive journey despite shifting venues and dates. As the chairperson of the planning team I would like to publicly express my gratitude to each person who has invested time, energy and money into Revive.
I believe Revive has an exciting future and opportunity to continue to grow in its impact for our association of Churches. I look forward sharing the journey of this future with you.
