Christmas is a season that tends to include a lot of gift giving. We generously show our love and appreciation towards family, loved ones and others to whom we have related during the year.
Often at Christmas we tend to show greater generosity than we normally would throughout the year.
As we celebrate Jesus’ coming among us, and ultimately the giving of His life for us, we remember and reflect on this great gift of generosity by God out of love for humankind.
Jesus lived a life of generosity amongst us: generous in spirit and attitude, in love and grace, in forgiveness and mercy; particularly towards the powerless, the poor, disadvantaged and marginalised.
My prayer this Christmas time is that, like Jesus, we would also reach out in love and generosity to all; the homeless, the refugee and people of other beliefs. Rather than responding in fear, hatred, self-interest or bitterness, let us love and support the most vulnerable in a hurting world.
May Christmas be the beginning of living this year as people generous of spirit, reflecting the love of Jesus for humankind.
I look forward, along with the entire Ministry Centre and Association team, to serving and partnering with you in 2016 and ask God’s richest blessing to be upon you, your family and your ministry.
