Expressions of interest are invited for a full-time pastoral position with a primary focus on youth and a secondary focus on either children or young adults.
MOBC is an established suburban congregation with about 350 people of all ages. Over recent years the church has been encouraged by the growth of its children’s and youth ministries. Currently about 80 children and 60 young people closely identify with the church and a significant number of others attend midweek activities. The congregation also includes a small but growing group of young adults, aged 18-25.
For the past 5 years MOBC has employed a part-time youth pastor but, with the position now vacant, our intention is to appoint a full-time pastor with responsibility for youth and either children or young adults.
MOBC recognizes the importance of investing in both its children and young adults. Consequently the church is prepared to be flexible in making this full-time appointment and is more concerned about finding the person who will be the ‘best fit’. Equal consideration will be given to all applicants regardless of whether their secondary focus is on children or young adults. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that he/she meets the person specification and has the relevant knowledge and experience to undertake their preferred role. Once this appointment has been made, MOBC will work towards finding someone else to fill the remaining role.
Position Descriptions for each of the roles is available, together with a Person Specification. Each of the Position Descriptions is deliberately loose in order to allow candidates to demonstrate their particular knowledge, experience and vision for the advertised roles.
Expressions of interested should be directed to MOBC’s Senior Pastor, Tim Burns, on 0422 697 066 or 9570 5722 or email@example.com
